How to Adopt!

Thinking about getting a pet? Make the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina your first stop. We have a diverse selection of healthy dogs and cats as well as playful puppies and kittens available for adoption. They all need loving homes with responsible pet owners like you! You can preview our animals online at Petango.com. HSEC is currently operating under a different adoption process due to COVID19. If you are interested in adopting one of HSEC's wonderful animals, please follow these steps:

Download the Adoption Application from the homepage of our website: www.HSECarolina.org
Complete the application and send it to AdoptHSEC@gmail.com
A staff member will review your application and be in touch to set up an appointment time for you to meet with an Adoption Counselor

Appointments will be made during our usual Adoption Hours.

At this time, we will ONLY be able to walk adopters around after they have filled out the application and set an appointment time with HSEC staff. We will not be able to facilitate "walk-in" adoptions.

Our knowledgeable Adoption Counselors will be happy to help you choose just the right pet; we will also provide information on proper care and training. When you've found your perfect forever friend and want to know how to adopt, we can help you through the process.

Adopting a pet through the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina has created a lot of success stories. Won't it be wonderful when all homeless animals have homes!?
