Mandee Foushee Lancaster, the HSEC president, was recently featured in Pieces of Eight, the East Carolina University faculty and staff newsletter. In Memoriam The Humane Society of Eastern Carolina extends our heartfelt sympathies to the McKinney family at the loss of Cailie Grace "Sassy" McKinney. Cailie Grace and her family were great supporters of the Humane Society and helped us tremendously by providing foster care for puppies and kittens. She was an extraordinary young girl whose heart knew no bounds when it came to caring for animals. Cailie Grace is pictured with a litter of foster puppies from last spring that were fondly known as the "Cookie Puppies". Our thoughts and prayers are with the McKinney family during this trying time.
