Murphy

Geisha's Best Buddy

Murphy (on the floor) and his new sister, Geisha, chillin' out.

My family adopted Murphy, formerly known as Briar Rabbit, during September 2005, when he was about 10 months old.  He is Zevon's, formerly known as Briar Wolfe, brother (his Success Story is posted too).

Murphy, has turned out to be a wonderful companion to our family and great with our young children.  He and our female akita, Geisha, are best buddies.

Much like Zevon, Murphy is very shy but becoming more sure of the world by the day.  During January, I started taking him to PetSmart for basic training and most importantly socialization.  During the first class, he trembled the entire class.  Last night, we completed class 6 and now he walks into PetSmart eager to get to class to greet the other dogs/people.  Progress!!  While I don't think Murphy is ever going to be an excessively brave dog (and that is fine with us) with time and patience he has learned and will continue to become more confident.

Thank you to the Pitt County Humane Society for believing in Murphy and giving him a chance to find his forever home!
