Little Celia

Celia getting some serious loving from her new parents!

A Success Story: Little Celia

with Julian Lambert & Cheryl Funderburk

Little Celia tried to be in our home last February, and we failed her because we weren't ready for her.  Luckily, we have been given a second chance to help her and we love each other again!

When Celia first arrived, she had an outstanding ability to hide in every nook and cranny.  Luckily, this time has been exceptionally different.  She has become brave expressing her trust in us.  It has taken us about a week to shake her fears unlike the first time, and the other cats she lives with have become very friendly with her.  They seem to understand her fears living outside of the cage.  This is what we didn't understand the first time.  Celia is adjusting faster than she did the first time with us because she is telling us what she needs instead of us assuming what we need to do for her.  She communicates very well with us because we let her come to us.  She tells us what we can do, and what we can't do.  It has become an understanding with all of us.  She now plays with her friends at night while getting into a lot of mischief!  We all have adapted very well while Celia allows us to be nurturing, loving, and caring for her, and she returns her love with being so sweet.  She has always been exceptionally sweet, and her anxiety is slowly disappearing.  She has a long way to go, but she has a much better start since we're ready for her, too.

Thank you, PCHS for giving us all a second chance.  We will be back to volunteer again!
