Gift Wrapping 2009
Thank you to everyone who came out to Holiday Gift Wrapping to support the
Humane Society this year - patrons and volunteers alike. We would not
be able to offer this service without the help of our dedicated volunteers.
We also appreciate the support of our loyal patrons each year. The
funds raised will help us care for our pets in 2010.
 Texas
Roadhouse lends a hand to HSEC in November and December 2009!
A big thank you to the folks at Texas Roadhouse for donating 10% of dinner
proceeds from November 4 and December 2 to HSEC. We appreciate
everyone who came out to enjoy a great dinner to help the pets at HSEC!
November 12, 2009 - Bow-Wow Bingo was a
great night!
Thank you to everyone who came out for some
good old fashioned fun at Bow-Wow Bingo. We hope everyone enjoyed the
evening and we look forward to seeing you at upcoming events! A
special thanks to the folks at the
Pitt Community Schools and Recreation Complex for letting us use the venue
for the evening.
Thanks to everyone who supported the HSEC raffle
and came out to enjoy some good food, company and music on November 12.
We would like to thank the members of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for their
generous monetary donation and their donation of a good number of items from
our wish list.
 Howl-O-Ween
Festival
We'd like to thank everyone - human and canine
alike - who came out to join us for the Howl-O-Ween Festival. A
howling good time was had by all! We hope to see everyone next year!
Auction for the Animals
Thank you to everyone who came out to join us for the Auction for the
Animals. The night was a great success! We would also like to
thank all those individuals and companies who generously donated their
time and/or items for the auction. We look forward to seeing everyone
next year!
We would like to thank Mary Jo Bertsch and Melanie Furimsky for opening
their beautiful home for CBI: Canine Breed Investigation - a fundraiser to
benefit HSEC. They recently found Kinston, the four legged, furry guest of
honor, on the side of the road. The night's festivities centered around
guessing her breed. A doggy DNA test showed her to a cockeryorkipoo.
(Part Cocker, part Yorki and part Poodle). It was an evening of good food
and good company - of the two and four legged kind. We appreciate Mary Jo
and Melanie's willingness to open their home and their heart to Kinston
and to HSEC!

Thank you to the caring folks at the Wachovia Dealer Service Center in
Greenville for letting us bring some of our adoptable dogs out for a visit
in late June. There is nothing like a little doggy fun to make an
ordinary day at work extraordinary. A good time was had by all!

We would like to thank the folks at Sam's Lock and Key for their generous
donation to help us increase
security at the Humane Society after our recent break in. They are
animal lovers through and through
and we appreciate their support in helping us keep our pets safe.

great big THANK YOU to the folks at Best Buy in Greenville for donating a
new dryer to HSEC!
We go through a lot of towels and blankets that need washing and drying
and the new dryer
is a real big help! Our dogs and cats are very happy to have clean and
fluffy towels and blankets!
 The
Pedigree Foundation Grant
Thank you to The Pedigree Foundation for
supporting the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina with a $1740 grant for
state required facility improvements. The Pedigree Foundation is a
philanthropic organization dedicated to helping dogs in need find loving
homes. We appreciate The Pedigree Foundation's support of our efforts
to help the homeless pets of eastern North Carolina.
 Food Bank of Central and Eastern Carolina Donation
Thank you to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern Carolina for the $1000
donation of rawhides, treats and food! Our cats and dogs are very much
enjoying their goodies!
Rotarian Day - February 28, 2009
We'd like to thank the Greenville Rotarians for
coming out to lend a helping hand on Saturday, February 28, 2009. The
day was rainy and cold, but everyone pitched in despite the weather -
walking dogs, planting flowers and helping spruce up the place. Thank
you to everyone who gave so freely of their time and energy. Click

 Hotel for Dogs Adoption Event
Thank you to everyone who came out to
support the Humane Society at the opening of Hotel for Dogs on Saturday,
January 17, 2009. A special thank you to Carmike Cinemas for the
opportunity to host the adoption event.
 Holiday Gift Wrapping at Colonial Mall
Thank you to everyone who came out to the Humane Society's
Holiday Gift Wrapping. We had the help of a lot of great volunteers
and we couldn't have done it without them! A total of just over
$10,000 was raised during Holiday Gift Wrapping. This will help us
care for the dogs and cats who await their forever home at the Humane
Society of Eastern Carolina!
  We would like to thank Linda Monico of New
Levels Dog Training and student volunteers from the Oakwood School for
dedicating an afternoon each week to help train and socialize our adoptable
pets. Dr. Linda Kuhn and Suzan Molloy also participate in the training
and support the program by organizing the sign up and transporting the kids
to and from the Humane Society and we appreciate their support in these
activities as well.
