Black Dog Day

March 17, 2007

12:00 noon - 4:00 pm - PETsMART
Note time change due to colder temperatures

The Humane Society of Eastern Carolina in association with the Pitt County Animal Shelter will be hosting a Black Dog Day on March 17, 2007 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at PETsMART.  Black dogs are passed up for adoption more than any other animal in shelters and we would like to give these special dogs and puppies a chance to find a great new home.

Top Ten Reasons to Adopt a Black Dog

Reason 10: We cannot clash with your furniture or clothing (and some of you actually worry about that).

Reason 9:  We cannot clash with any collar you might choose either!  Ditto for the bandanas.  Accessorize us!

Reason 8:  Ease of vacuuming!  You can quickly spot the areas of most urgent need.

Reason 7:  We hide the dirt well (doesn't mean we don't need that bath after a messy play but your guests won't be able to see it so quickly).

Reason 6:  We make an excellent "backdrop" for a second lighter colored dog (if you choose to have one).

Reason 5  Availability!!!  We are available now at every shelter or rescue group you can imagine, in every age bracket with no long waiting lists or difficulty search.

Reason 4:  No annoying queries of "exactly what kind of dog is that anyhow?"  People are content with "big black dog" and don't ask anymore questions.

Reason 3:  EXCELLENT night walk protection.  The "bad guy" won't see us ‘til it’s too late!

Reason 2:  Status symbol potential.  Black pearls are the most costly you know......

Reason 1:  WE NEED YOU
