12th Annual Canine Crawl Town Common, Greenville, NC March 25, 2012 The Humane Society of Eastern Carolina’s family friendly dog festival to raise money for homeless animals. Registration begins at 12:00 - Paws to the pavement at 1:00 pm! Schedule of Events coming soon!
Get Involved in the 12th Annual Canine Crawl!!! The Dog Walk The Canine Crawl is kicked off with a fundraising dog walk. Area dog lovers collect donations to help support the animals of the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina. On walk day, they bring their canine friends to enjoy a leisurely stroll through downtown Greenville. Minimum pledge to participate is $25. Prizes are awarded at each pledge level. Click here for a Canine Crawl pledge form. Dogs for Adoption Come to Canine Crawl for the largest dog adoption event in Greenville! Animal Rescue groups from across the area are invited to showcase their dogs. If your group would like to participate, please fill out and return the vendor application or contact Mindi Crippen, Event Chair, at 252-864-5299 or mindicrippen@gmail.com. Canine Crawl King and Queen The Humane Society of Eastern Carolina understands how special rescued pooches can be, and we want to find the best! This judged event will score rescued dogs on: Poise: How well do they carry themselves? Do they have a pleasant physique? Personality: Do they have any unique behaviors or traits? What about their character makes them special? Performance: What’s their talent? What does your dog do that wows you and your friends? There will be one King and one Queen crowned. These dogs will carry this title for the entire year and will be featured in HSEC’s quarterly newsletter and on HSEC’s website. There is a $8 entry fee per dog. No Breed Dog Show The Canine Crawl's No Breed Dog Show lets every dog - mutt or pure bred - show their stuff. Winners of each category will receive a $10 PetSmart gift card and go on to compete in Best in Show. Winner of Best in Show will receive a $20 gift card and a Canine Crawl T-Shirt. $3.00 entry fee per category. Entry forms available at HSEC tent on day of event. Cute as a Button – Best small dog (for small dogs at least 1 year old). Who’s the Big Dog – Best looking, biggest dog. Most Mysterious Heritage – A class for those lovable pets whose features cross all lines of breed characteristics Bad to the Bone – A little dog with a big dog 'tude? A rough, tough looking customer (with a heart of gold)? Dogs will be judged on their attitude and demeanor Dog Tails – Best Tail or lack thereof – fluffy tails, extra special or nubby tails welcome! Microchipping Bring your lost pet home fast and safe with 24PetWatch Microchip ID. Your onetime payment of $30 includes a microchip, implantation of the chip by a veterinarian, and registration of your dogs’ chip. For more information on 24PetWatch please visit www.24petwatch.com. Pet Caricatures Artist, and HSEC Board Member, Jason Cottle will be drawing pet caricatures. For just $10 you can have an 11x14 drawing of your pooch. Dog Wash (weather permitting) Got a dirty pooch? Let the Humane Society volunteers clean them up. For a small donation, $5 for small dogs and $8 for large dogs, HSEC will wash your dog while you wait and enjoy the day. Bringing Your Dog... Do NOT bring your dog if he/she is younger than SIX months of age and/or is not fully vaccinated. Do NOT bring your dog is she is in HEAT. Have your dog wear current ID and rabies tag (or bring rabies certificate) Water will be provided. Even if you are not thirsty, be sure to let your dog have plenty of access to water. Keep your dog on a 6-foot or shorter leash at all times. Bring your dog if he/she will enjoy being around other people and dogs.
