Susie Yates & Truffles

Susie & Truffles raised $418 in pledges for
the Canine Crawl. Truffles is a 10 year old dachshund who entered
rescue on January 15, 2001. Truffles was 'down' in her back legs and the
family had not been able to successfully rehab her to walking again.
They felt they did not have the funds for the back surgery, so they made
the decision to have Truffles euthanized. Fortunately, Truffles
found her way to Susie and her dachshund rescue and was given a second
chance at a loving home. With some rehab and TLC from Susie,
Truffles was able to regain the use of her legs and walk again without
pain. After some time and an unsuccessful adoption, she 'officially'
became a member of the family and became "Tresa-Dee Truffles". Susie
does her part for homeless animals year round with her tireless rescue
efforts with Dachshund Rescue of America. If you are intersted in

Janelle Casey & Copper

Janelle and Copper raised $376 in pledges
for the Canine Crawl. Copper is a 2 year old long haired miniature
dachshund. Janelle says he loves to walk because he gets to smell
new things and he is very nosey. That's a hound for you!
Copper loves to nap, ride in the car (he rides on Janelle's shoulders so
he can see), and play with his best friend Titan (also a big money raiser)
and the cats. He never misses a chance to give out kisses! The
Humane Society of Eastern Carolina thanks Janelle and Copper for being all
around great supporters of homeless animals in eastern North Carolina!

Katherine Kenyon-Gose & Ran

Katherine is 10 years old and this is her
fourth year raising money for the Canine Crawl. She and Ran raised $325
in pledges for the Canine Crawl. She and Ran, a female English
Pointer mix, make a great pair! Katherine is home
schooled so she gets to spend lots of quality time with Ran while
she is studying. Every year she goes door to door asking for
sponsors and explains what a good cause
the Humane Society is. She really wants to work with dogs when she grows
up. The Humane Society of Eastern Carolina thanks Katherine and Ran for
being all around great supporters of homeless animals in eastern North
Carolina!

Mark & Dana Brown &
Reagan

Mark (not pictured) and Dana Brown raised $307 in pledges for the Canine
Crawl. Dana and their niece, Jenna, are pictured with Reagan.
They adopted Reagan from PetSmart about 2 months ago. Since then she has
become a true member of their family. She loves to play fetch and dance
for treats. She was trained at "A New Leash on Life" Training program and
her trainer did such a good job. The trainder sent along with her a book
of her daily training accomplishments and pictures of her with the other
doggies that were in her class with their trainers. Mark and Dana call it
her baby book. In two short months Reagan has become very attached to her
new family and she likes to be right in the middle at all times. If Mark
and Dana are on the couch, she (knowing she is not allowed on the couch)
jumps right in the middle. She also has to be in the middle in the
bed! She will wiggle and kick until she has made enough room for
herself between her humans. The Humane Society of Eastern Carolina
thanks Mark, Dana and Reagan for being all around great supporters of
homeless animals in eastern North Carolina!

Jessica Mitchell & Titan
Jessica and Titan raised $290 in pledges
for the Canine Crawl. Titan is a almost
7 year old male who was born May 25, 2000. He is a very sweet boy that
LOVES to walk so much that you cannot even spell the word around him.
His best friend and cousin is Cooper, a mini long haired dachshund.
Along with walking as a favorite pastime, he enjoys trips to PetsMart
(another word that cannot be spoken with out having some whining),
taking rides, and playing in the water whether it be at the beach or
swimming pool and playing with his dad.
The Humane Society of Eastern Carolina thanks Jessica and Titan for
being all around great supporters of homeless animals in eastern North
Carolina!

Jade and Kenan Ray raised $289 in pledges for the
Canine Crawl. Kenan Ray is a big name for a big boy. He is a
10 month old boxer and American bull dog mix and Jade says he is one of
the greatest joys of my life. He is very smart, goofy and full of
energy. Kenan has been crate trained since he was a small boy and
is also house trained. He sleeps with his Mom at night and seems to
think he can take up the whole bed! Jade says her love for animals
goes very deep since she was a young girl. Jade has been a
receptionist/technician at a local veterinarians office for five years
now. Jade and Kenan say they were happy to help raise money for
such an awesome organization and they thank everyone who made this
possible.
